Office Christmas Party- Do Not Do It

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Although Christmas is still a few months away yet the planning for the staff party and drinking sessions are well under way and there a few things to bare in mind when thinking about partying down.

What is the location. Some companies are so set on saving money that they may actually attempt to have the party in the office at Christmas but is this such a good plan or can it backfire? The reason a business may not be a good idea to have a party in is because it should be a place of respect and work. However many companies can actually not afford to go out on a big spending spree and sometimes the party in the office is necessary and if this is the case you are going to need office insurance.

There is a reason for this and that is when people have had a bit more to drink than normal and sometimes accidents can occur. How much money do all of your computers cost to repair, you may find out sooner than youd like. Even more important is some of the memory that is held onto these machines so if one is ruined it could seriously cost your business a lot of money this is why even if you are a small business you should think about small business insurance as this will be a lot cheaper than the average insurance costs.

For some of the bigger companies to deney their employees a christmas meal is just uncalled for an I personally have no sympathy at all for you. The employees work hard all year round and a company paid meal is a nice way to reward all of the employees at the same time. You could always give out a Christmas bonus as this really does show how much you appreicate all the hard work that they have done for the year.

Of course if you are in a works van and something happens you could always go for business vans insurance as this will cover you from everything that could happen to the van.

Why Office Insurance Is A Must

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

The importance of insurance is taught to us at a pretty young age and you will come across it many times in your life. Almost everyone in the western world has insurance of some sort to cover themselves or their property. There are more types of insurance than you could possibly conceive, and each is very important in its own right.  It is just as important to have office insurance if you are working in such an environment and here are three of the top reasons why this is the case.

Cover Your Employees. Your insurance must cover anyone and everyone working in the office that you control. Injuries as a result of accidents do happen at work quite frequently, and without proper cover it will be the employer to has to pay medical fees.Add to this the fact that many potential employees could be put off by the knowledge that you do not have their health and safety in mind.

Damage or loss. The furnishings, electrical equipment and many other expensive items found in most offices add up to a lot of money. If you are insured then you will be able to continue trading and will have financial back-up if things get damaged or stolen. Further to this, having cover means that you do not need to be constantly worrying about what will happen in the worst case scenario.

Credibility. Quite often, being able to say that you are fully covered by even small business insurance, shows your clients and other businesses that you are responsible and professional.  You will quite often make more money by being able to state you have good cover than the insurance costs you in the first place. Just ask yourself this, would you do business with a company that didn’t have the money or effort to arrange insurance cover?
