The first thing one should consider is the lighting.Lighting plays a big part in taking photos because it can make it look good or totally ruin it.That is the reason why photo studios spend a lot on lighting equipments.When taking shots outdoors a photographer must make sure that the sunlight is behind him/her.  This is from years of taking photos of people during the day as a San Diego wedding photographer.It must be suprising for you to learn that an overcast day is a great opportunity to take very nice photos.

It would be just like any kind of job.Would you just hire someone to be your employee if, for example, you own a business?  Of course you wouldn’t and neither should you with hiring a photographer for the job.  You will want to see if you are compatible personality wise.  You will want to see their work.  And from my experience as an San Diego photographer, you want to see how much experience they have dealing with weddings. If you do a round of interviews you will definitely find the photographer you are looking for.
